A delegation of the Cyprus Orthodox Church, headed by Metropolitans Chrysostomos of Kiti and Isaiah of Tamossos, arrived in Moscow on May 11, accompanying a reliquary containing the relics of St Lazarus Chetverodnevnogo, Bishop of Kitia. The reliquary was given as a gift from the Russian Orthodox Church to the church of St Lazarus in Larnaca on the final day of the official visit of His Holiness Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill to the Orthodox Church of Cyprus. It will be stored in the Zachatievsky stavropegic convent in Moscow.
During their stay the guests visited to the Holy Trinity-St Sergius Lavra and Moscow Theological Academy, venerating the relics of St Sergius in the Trinity Cathedral of the Lavra and the relics in the Palace of Serapion, and the Cathedral of the Assumption Monastery. After this, the delegation visited the Moscow Theological Academy, during which guests toured the academic church of the Protection of the Mother of God and the ecclesiastical-archaeological exhibition of the Academy. The guests also met with the rector of MDA Archbishop Evgeny of Vereya.
