Poll: Every second Russian believes abortions and euthanasia acceptable

51% of Russians believe abortion is acceptable for families with low income, according to a poll by the Politekh social technologies agency commissioned by the Russian Public Chamber.
42% of Russians think the contrary, the authors of the poll told Interfax-Religion.
The sociologists calculate that 63% of Russians believe that human life starts from the moment of conception, while 33% think it begins from birth. 55% of respondents are sure that euthanasia should be allowed only for incurable and hardly suffering patients, 9% for wider circles, while 28% do not think it acceptable.
The poll was conducted by telephone; 1800 people aged over 18 were questioned in 149 cities of 74 regions of the Russian Federation.
