The pilgrimage to the West phenomenon (by analogy with H. Hesse “Journey to the East”) in the East thinkers’ experience is presented as intellectual, spiritual and real transference to Western culture space for understanding of it’s values, rules and heritage along with opening of theirs’ own self. The pilgrimage’s spiritual foundation, his heterodox and inner-imperative character, spiritual and space forms, content and results represented on the example of the Bengal Renaissance. General pilgrimage’s result is finding of spiritual and intellectual power for cultural-creative works in their own country.
