Краткая биографическая справка:

Родился в 1948 г. Профессор Исследований авраамических религий факультета Восточных исследований Оксфордского университета.

После обучения на факультете юридических и экономических наук в Париже и Еврейском университете в Иерусалиме Струмса защитил магистерскую диссертацию по сравнительному религиоведению в Гарвардском университете, где он также получил степень PhD в 1978. В этом же году Струмса стал лектором и впоследствии профессором в Еврейском университете Иерусалима.

С 1999 по 2005 г. Струмса был директором Центра исследования христианства в Еврейском университете.

С 2009 г. Струмса занял должность профессора Исследования авраамических религий Оксфордского университета.

В 2004 г. Струмса стал доктором honoris causa Университета Цюриха. В 2008 г. он получил премию Александра фон Гумбольдта.

В 2008 г. Струмса был избран членом Академии наук Израиля.

Научные интересы: история религий на Ближнем востоке и в Средиземноморье в период поздней античности; теоретические, эпистемологические и исторические проблемы в исследовании истории религий как дисциплины.
