Краткая биографическая справка:

Профессор Гарвардской богословской школы. Сторонница феминистской теологии.

Родилась в 1938 г. Закончила магистратуру Университета Вюрцбурга. Защитила докторскую диссертацию в Университете Мюнстера.

Является соучредителем и редактором "Journal of Feminist Studies in Religion".

Была первой женщиной, избранной надолжность президента "Общества библейской литературы". С 2001 г. является членом Американской академии искусств и наук.

Изветсна благодаря монографии "In Memory of Her: A Feminist Theological Reconstruction of Christian Origins", которая стала одной из главных книг в области теологии феминима.

Причисляет себя к членам Римско-Католической церкви, хотя в 1984 г. подписала обращение за легализацию абортов.
