DECR Vice-Chairman meets with Chair of US Commission on International Religious Freedom

On September 26, 2012, Hegumen Philaret (Bulekov), vice-chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’sDepartment for External Church Relations, met with Ms. Katrina Lantos Swett, chair of the US Commission on International Religious Freedom, at the Department for External Church Relations.
The talk was held in an atmosphere of mutual understanding. Answering the honoured guest’s questions, Father Philaret explained the life of the Russian Orthodox Church today and her view of the burning problems of today. The sides also discussed the report of the US State Department on Freedom of Religion in the world as Ms. Lantos’s Commission participates in its preparation.
